I’m currently a Lane Fellow in the Computational Biology Department in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, working with Prof. Jian Ma. I received my PhD in Computer Science from the University of Arizona, in 2022. I received my undergraduate degree in 2016 in Biochemistry with a minor in Computer Science from BYU.
My research focuses on applying ideas from algorithms to problems in bioinformatics and computational biology (a combination biochemistry and computer science). During my PhD, I worked on two problems from different areas in computational biology: protein secondary structure prediction, and inferring pathways in metabolic and cell-signaling networks modeled as directed hypergraphs.
My hobbies include playing board gaming and racquet sports. I am a 4.0-level pickleball player, and I own over 250 board games!
I also like to travel in my free time.
